STX 2020 LAXCON OMEGA CONTEST
OFFICIAL RULES
NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND IS NECESSARY TO ENTER. A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING. PARTICIPATION IN THE STX OMEGA LACROSSE HEAD CONTEST IS ACKNOWLEDGEMENT AND ACCEPTANCE OF THESE RULES.
Dates of Contest: The STX LaxCon OMEGA Contest will take place at STX’s exhibitor location during LaxCon 2020 on Friday, January 10, 2020 and Saturday, January 11, 2020 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center - Philadelphia.
Eligibility: The Contest operator is STX, LLC, a Maryland limited liability company, whose offices are located at 1500 Bush Street, Baltimore, MD (“STX”). The Contest is open to all legal residents of the United States who are 20 years of age or younger (“Entrant”). Proof of age may be required in STX’s sole discretion. Employees of STX and their immediate family members, its subsidiaries, distributors, sales representatives, advertising agencies, and any others engaged in the development, production execution or distribution of this Contest are not eligible to participate. Void where prohibited by law. This Contest is subject to all federal, state, local and municipal laws and regulations.
How to Enter: Entrants must visit STX’s exhibitor location at LaxCon on the specified days and follow the directions given to participate in the Contest.
The Contest: Upon an Entrant’s turn to compete, Entrant will be presented with an STX Omega lacrosse head (heated to correlate with ambient air temperature in excess of 100 degrees F) and challenged to squeeze the sidewalls of the head together as far as he or she is capable using one hand at a time. Entrants will have approximately 30 seconds to complete the task. Only one Entrant can win. The Contest ends after one winner is declared by STX. Any attempt to circumvent these rules or any additional rules added by STX at the time of the Contest will result in an Entrant’s immediate disqualification.
Winning: An Entrant will win the cash prize if he or she is able to squeeze the opposing side walls of an Omega head (presented by STX to Entrant at the Contest site) to such a degree that the sidewalls touch one another to an observing STX official’s satisfaction. An Entrant may compete for the cash prize only one time. The Contest will be conducted under the supervision of STX and its decisions on winning or these Official Rules shall be final and binding in all respects.
Prizes/Prize Conditions: The Winner will receive a cash prize in the amount of $10,000.00. The cash prize will be paid to the winning Entrant within seven (7) days of the Contest. STX is not responsible for any prize-related expenses including but not limited to, all federal, state, and local taxes. The prize will be reported to the IRS in the form of a 1099-INT. If the Winner is considered a minor in their place of residence, STX reserves the right to issue the prize money in the name of Winner’s parent or legal guardian who will be required to sign the appropriate contest-winnings documentation (e.g. Winner’s Declaration and Release Agreement) on the minor Winner’s behalf. If a Winner is disqualified for any reason, STX is not obliged to provide an alternate prize or to extend the Contest period in any way, and all privileges of the Winner will be terminated immediately. Potential Winners consent to the use of his/her name, likeness, biographical information and voice in advertising worldwide without additional compensation.
General Rules of Participation: By participating in this Contest, Entrants agree: (a) to abide by and be bound by these rules and STX’s discretion over the Contest; (b) to release, discharge and hold harmless STX, its subsidiaries, affiliates, vendors, agencies and any other individual or concern involved in the development or execution of the Contest from any and all injuries, liability, losses, damages, rights, claims and actions of any kind, including liability for personal injury or death resulting from their participation in the Contest or their acceptance, use or misuse of a prize; (c) if a winner, to the use of their name, voice, image and/or likeness for advertising, publicity and promotional purposes by STX without further compensation (unless prohibited by law) and to execute specific consent to such use if asked to do so. STX may prohibit an Entrant from participating in the Contest or winning a prize if, in its sole discretion, it determines that an Entrant is attempting to undermine the legitimate operation of the Contest by cheating, deception, or other unfair playing practices or intending to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other Entrants or STX. CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT BY AN ENTRANT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE CONTEST MAY BE IN VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS. STX RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK REMEDIES AND DAMAGES (INCLUDING ATTORNEY’S FEES) FROM ANY SUCH ENTRANT TO THE FULLEST EXTENT OF THE LAW, INCLUDING CRIMINAL PROSECUTION.
If, for any reason whatsoever, this Contest, in STX’s sole opinion, is not capable of running as planned, including, but not limited to, tampering, fraud, technical failures, or any other cause which, in STX’s sole judgment, corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this Contest, STX reserves the right at its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend this Contest and limit entries prior to the action taken, or to proceed in such a manner as may be deemed fair and equitable by STX in its sole discretion. Entry information becomes the property of STX. All federal, state and local regulations apply.
