Q&A

Q. How old were you when you started playing?

A. I was nine when I started playing – my legendary grandpa bought me my first stick: a wooden one that had to be treated with linseed oil!

Q. Who was your favorite athlete (any sport) growing up?

A. Coming from a rugby family, I was a big Jonny Wilkinson fan (England rugby) and as a lacrosse player I always admired Jen Adams for her flair and creativity! I had an STX poster of her up in my room as a kid!

Q. What was your Play Huge moment in your career?

A. There are tons of highlights that spring to mind over the course of my lacrosse career: playing in my U19 World Cup in 2011, getting my first senior England cap, winning the European Championships in 2015 and also beating Australia in the test series in 2016… One of my single favourite game memories is playing for Loughborough in my fresher year against our then rivals, Birmingham, and coming back from 6-2 down at half time to win the game 10-9. I assisted the winning goal in the last few seconds and it was just an incredible feeling to play a part in grinding out the win.

Q. What song is always on your pregame play list?

A. The song that is ALWAYS on my pregame playlist is Flo-Rida – My House. We crank it up in the changing room before every England game to get us pumped. That, and a little bit of Celine Dion…

Q. What’s your favorite movie?

A. Favourite movie would have to be The Lion King or Forrest Gump.

Q. What advice would you give to a younger version of yourself?

A. Put your stick in your left hand!!! And just have fun, see the positive in every situation. The great moments will make up for the tough ones!

Q. What's the one thing you’d like to see changed in your sport?

A. I would absolutely love to see lacrosse in the Olympics.

Q. Who's your favorite teammate you’ve ever played with?

A. My favourite teammate I have ever played with is my buddy Em Steel who I played with at Loughborough University. She taught me everything I know!

Q. What’s your favorite pre-game meal?

A. My go to meal for pregame is chopped banana and peanut butter on wholemeal toast with a cup of tea!

Q. Tell us your favorite motivational quote.

A. Clear eyes, full hearts, can’t lose.
